Pinterest – A Great Source for Curating Content for Facebook Pages

Facebook Pages are great tools for sharing content and interacting with your fans.  Fans are anyone who likes your page and they could already be a customer or a prospect at this time.

The key to having a great Facebook page though is to share relevant content that is of interest to your audience and not a constant sales pitch.

We often recommend that Facebook Page owners use tools use as Google Alerts and Google Reader to be kept up to date on relevant content in their industry that would appeal to fans and then share this.  Of course we also highly recommend that you have a blog and share your own blog posts.

Another great tool for finding or what we call curating content to share however is Pinterest.  Pinterest is a visual tool and studies show that often posts on Facebook with images get more shares and likes.

Pinterest is full of content for you to search and share on Facebook, or better yet write a quick blog post on your summary or point of view of what you found and then share that on Facebook.

If you are a Real Estate Agent and focusing a particular geographical location you could probably find boards on Pinterest such as:

  • Denver Housing News
  • Denver Living
  • Denver Dining
  • Things to do in Denver

You could create boards of your own for these topics and pin items to them and then repurpose the items on Facebook.

In order to repurpose the items you can save your photo from Pinterest and then upload it to Facebook and provide a link back to either the article that you pinned or better yet your blog post.
