If you follow the steps listed below you should be able to effectively use this strategy for generating more traffic to your site.
Blog commenting is a marketing strategy you can use especially if you
1. Search for a popular blog – do your research and find blogs that are of the same niche as your website, and in order to attract hundreds or thousands of readers to your website, that blog that you are commenting on should have several readers.
2. Post blog comments on "Do Follow" blogs – blogs have a "no follow" or "do follow" features, when you comment on blogs make sure that you are posting on a "do follow" blog, this will allow search engines to recognize the hyperlink or backlink that you post with your comment.
3. Add a personal touch to your blog comments – when you post blog comments on others' blogs, you are not just posting to get your website link out there, you are also there to interact and connect with others. Ensure that you fully read the blog post you are commenting on and leave a relevant comment, hopefully one that will generate more comments. When possible be sure to use your logo or photo with your blog comments, this will help you with branding.

Social Media and the impact on SEO
In times past, search engine optimization (aka SEO) and social media wouldn't have been used in the same sentence. After all, search engine optimization comprises techniques designed to help boost one's search engine rank placement and social media sites, like Facebook, allow you to connect with your friends or customers in a "social" way.
However, recent changes by both Google and Bing make it clear that these major search engines are looking to social media sites as a way to validate the quality of the content found on websites. Those that make the grade are being rewarded with improved search engine rankings… even in "regular" search.
While there are some differences in the way Google and Bing are using information from social media sites to adjust their indexes, there are many similarities. The search engines are looking at the "authority" of the account holder and placing more importance on any links posted on sites like Twitter and Facebook.
While the links themselves may be "no follow" links, that isn't stopping the search engines from adjusting the indexes and increasing the search engine rank placement for the web pages they point to. In fact, some have said that it appears as though "retweets" are the new form of linkbuilding.
Both Google and Bing are looking at the frequency that a particular link is posted (or re-posted) on the social media sites and are also paying attention to who is doing the posting. If your links are being posted by an individual or business that is considered to be an authority by the search engines, the associated web page may see a boost in its search engine ranking.
This development validates what many marketing experts have believed for more than a year now; Social media's importance is growing in the eyes of the search engines and this trend will likely continue. It's well known that Google places a premium on relevant content and quality sites and pages so it should come as no surprise that they are tracking the number of people who liked your content well enough to share it with others.
Those who would like to take advantage of these new search engine trends are encouraged to make it as easy as possible for others to share their content or the links they contain. Adding a "retweet" function to your website or blog, for example, can dramatically increase the likelihood that your content will be shared by your visitors via Twitter.

Blogging is important for SEO

If you already have a blog for your business, then you are on the right track. Blogging is huge. It’s the latest way to promote goods, services, white papers, books, opinions, and so much more. Once it has been established that you are not missing out on the opportunity, you need to ensure that you are blogging well, and making the most of it.
It is not just about creating the blog, making posts, and then sitting back and waiting. No, it’s more, much more. It’s about attracting and enticing the traffic you want to your blog. It’s about making sure your blog is visible on the web, so that it can be highly ranked by search engines. It’s about optimizing your blog. In the same way that search engine optimization, is a priority for websites, SEO is just as important for your blog.
So exactly how do you need to write those posts so that people will be drawn to your blog? Well you have to become familiar with keywords.
Keywords are the words that potential customers who are looking for a business like yours, are most likely to use. They are the ones that search engines will be on the lookout for. However, if the keywords are not on your site, then Google search, or any other engine, will pass you by. When that happens, it is an opportunity lost, perhaps even a sale. Therefore, keywords and phrases are an all important component of SEO.
It is important to include keywords in the blog title as well as throughout the text. However, remember the golden rule is not to overuse them, because if you do, then your content will sound very clumsy, and will put off readers.
Another thing to remember when writing posts is that, the content should be unique. Readers are always looking for something new and different. There is no greater magnet. Be careful to build anticipation, so that they are encouraged to come back to see what happens next. You can do that by giving them just a little idea of where you’re going next with your product, and what they can expect. The intention is to get them to anxiously await your next post. There is no better way to ensure that you will get more traffic, and they are going to be sure to tell others about it.
It is also a good idea to post regularly. Search engines like blogs because the content changes frequently. The search engine is likely to spend a little time looking around your blog, once you have new information posted.
Blogs are extremely popular. You can exchange links with other blogs to help promote your business. More importantly, linking is another way in which you will become more visible on the web, as search engines are attracted to sites with quality links. In addition, once you are able to pull in traffic, you can redirect it to the sales page on your website, and get the sales you are aiming for.
