Is your business on Twitter yet?

If not you should probably put it in the plans to be completed. Twitter is now main stream and is being used by many businesses to drive traffic and increase sales. Twitter is viral and when businesses use it they are able to touch a lot of prospects quickly. If you are posting interesting and helpful information on Twitter it will be shared by others and give you exposure to others.

The article below is from FYIndOut and it helps expand on the topic of businesses using Twitter.

Savvy Businesses Making the Most of Twitter

Companies are beginning to realize the importance of using Twitter to monitor their brand, create relationships and turn leads to sales. According to a recent survey by MarketingProfs, “more than eight in 10 Twitter users, most of whom represent small businesses, expect their company’s use of the popular micro blogging tool to increase in the next six months.”

In addition, 66% of the respondents consider Twitter either “somewhat important” or “extremely important” to their company’s business/marketing operations, compared with 29% who consider it “not very important.”

At FYIndOut, we’re always focused on helping businesses find and promote what they’re looking for and one of our main focuses is around using the power of social media to work for business. Twitter is fast becoming one of the top platforms that companies not only participate in, but also get real value by doing so. Unlike most other social media sites, Twitter has the ability and breadth to be a fun and efficient way to connect consumers in our personal lives as well as help businesses and employees in our professional lives.

We have definitely seen a positive difference in using Twitter for our company. Through Twitter, we’ve been able to connect and learn from industry trendsetters, other entrepreneurs, investors, and key media people that cover our industry. Not having any luck reaching out to people via email or their “Contact Us” form? Try Twitter. You’d be amazed at how fast you’re able to connect with others.

If you are just starting to use Twitter and have any questions about our experience or think that we might be able to help, please reach out to myself (@scottjmanley) or our Community Manager, Brett Kopf (@brettkopf) and we’ll do our best.

Are you harnessing the power of twitter in your business? If you are not you need to be. One local Pizza restaurant brought in 15% of the daily customers from twitter alone.

Unless you haven’t been following the latest news and hottest things I am sure you have heard of twitter. If you for some reason haven’t heard of twitter yet here is a quick description for you of what twitter is:

Twitter is a social networking and micro blogging service that allows you answer the question, “What are you doing?” by sending short text messages 140 characters in length, called “tweets”, to your friends, or “followers.”

You can also find out more about twitter at www.tweeternet.com

Twitter is proving to be a very powerful tool for many businesses. Twitter allows you to communicate instantly to your followers and provide them with relevant information and in many cases a promotion that they can take advantage of. This typically results in additional advertising for your business and in most cases revenue.

Naked Pizza is doing a great job of using twitter to communicate with their followers and they are seeing a great Return on Investment for this activity. They have used twitter to communicate a special or promotion and in general interact with their customers. In April they decided to track the sales that were a direct result of twitter and found that on April 23 an exclusive-to-twitter promotion brought in 15% of the day’s business.

If you view Naked Pizza’s twitter page at www.twitter.com/nakedpizza you will see the tweets that Naked Pizza sends out to its followers. When you are here please also take a look at the positive comments from their followers. All of these positive comments are also seen by anyone following the person that provided the comment. This is FREE advertising that is seen by thousands of users.

Berry Chill is another company that is harnessing the power of twitter to communicate with their customers and drive additional business. Berry Chill features “sweet tweets” that they send out to customers offering special promotions to twitter followers. This drives a lot of business to the store and even attracts new customers.

If you are not using twitter yet in your business it is time that you start. You can set up an account for FREE at http://www.twitter.com . The key to harnessing the power of twitter is to have a custom background designed for you that showcases your business and your offerings and sets you apart. SourceOne Technologies can assist you in having a custom background designed. To find out more about this service please contact us at 720-306-5001 x 101 or email us by clicking on the link custom twitter background.

You can read more on how Naked Pizza and Berry Chill are using twitter in the article Twitter Proves its Worth as a Killer App for Local Businesses
