How Users are Interacting on Pinterest

Have you wondered how users are really interacting on Pinterest and how this interaction is driving traffic and or sales?  The  info-graphic below from Wispond does a great job of illustrating how users are truly interacting.

A couple of key findings that we like to share are the following:

  • Pinterest referrals spend 70% more money than those that come from non-social channels
  • 69% of Pinterest users buy product they find from their Pinterest network, compared to 40% of users purchasing products from pages they had ‘Liked’

One other interesting finding was that pins with prices included received 36% more likes than pins without prices.

How are users using Pinterest

Twitter Tools

twitter-toolsTwitter is currently one of the top Social Networking tools that I use multiple times a day to connect with others and share my brand and direction.  I think the reason that it is on the top of the list is due to the ease of use and the efficiency as well as the tools that are available to work with Twitter.

There are literally thousands of tools available that can be used in some manner with Twitter, from clients to search to ranking to lists you name it they are available.

There are too many tools currently available so I can list all of them in this post, however I would like to give you a list of a handful of helpful tools at this time.

Twitter Trending Tools

Twit(url)y – list the top urls that ae being discussed on Twitter and does a nice job of breaking them down into Everything, News, Pics and Videos

Tweetmeme – is another Twitter tool that helps you see trends.  It lists the hottest links on Twitter

Twitscoop – is another tool to help you stay on top of Twitter.  Twittscoop also lets you update your Twitter from it’s interface

Twitter Tracking Tools

TweetStats – a tool to use to graph your tweets

Hoot Suite – This is a Twitter client that also has tracking and stats available

Twitter Unfollow Tracking and Automation

Qwitter – this tool will email you when someone quits following you after a tweet

Twitterless – this tool you who stops following you and graphs your follower history over time, making this info available in a variety of useful views.  At this time however this tool is in Beta still so I can’t give my honest opinion yet, but I am very curious to test it out.

Twitter Karma – This is one of my favorite tools.  It is a great way to see who is and who isn’t following you and it offers a way to mass follow or unfollow those users.

BuZZom – is a new tool for managing your followers and looks very robust.  I will be testing this one out over the next several days.

Twitter Search Tools

Search Twitter – This is Twitter’s built in search tool and it works very well to search Twitter for topic so interest

TweetScan – this tools works very similarly to Twitter Search but displays slightly differently

Twitter Local – this is a great tool to search tweets posted in a local location

Chirp City -  A tool to check out those Tweeting Near You

If you have a favorite Twitter tool either on this list or not please be sure to post a comment and share it.

Thanks

Today is Halloween

I wanted to take a minute and wish everyone a safe and Happy Halloween today.

This morning when I spent my regular time online to catch up on news and events and what my friends and those I respect are up to it was great to also get a glimpse of what everyone has planned for Halloween today.

One huge difference that I see this year compared to last year’s Halloween is that I was able to get this glimpse of what everyone is doing a lot faster via social networking and social media.

Here are some examples of the info that I was able to check out today on Halloween that I wouldn’t have been able to in years past:

From Twitter I was able to check out pumpkin carvings and costumes:

cloudberrynine: Happy Halloween! Here’s my pumpkin effort :-) http://yfrog.com/j4b0ij

gina_romero: Me and my little monsters: Happy Halloween all! http://moby.to/8uliz3

BinkyBird: WOW!! RT @DaveGorman: http://twitpic.com/nohmd – For Halloween, some pumpkins I carved a few years ago.Chicago, 2005.

MintMickey: http://twitpic.com/nppsk – My boys in their Halloween costumes just minutes ago.

From YouTube

How to make a witch costume:

And from Facebook

Halloween Wishes from friends

Matt Bacak Happy Halloween from the Bacak family ->> http://yfrog.com/e66ymj

Mandy Christensen Happy Halloween! Be SAFE and stay warm:)

There are many examples I could give but these are just a hand full.

Have a Happy Halloween

Yeah!! I got my Twitter Lists Yesterday

Twitter

Many of you know that Twitter has been rolling out a new feature “Twitter Lists” over the past several weeks to a few accounts.  Yesterday the big roll out started happening to other accounts and I am happy to report that I now am the proud owner of having the ability to use Lists in my Twitter account.

I have to say Twitter Lists are wonderful!

I haven’t used all of the functionality available in them yet, but I have used them to start segmenting who I follow.  This has been great because it gives me the ability to just view the tweets from those in a particular niche at a time.  This makes it really easy when using the web interface on twitter.com to see the tweets you want to see.  I love to read everyone’s tweets but this way I can group who I follow and then read that group all at one time.  This is a great time saver.

If you haven’t been given your Twitter List feature yet it should be there within the next several days.  Once you get it you will see how easy it is to create lists and add people to them, you can even add someone to a list when you follow them (best way to do so in my opinion).

Also there is a new tool available where you can see the lists that others have created and follow them too.  This is available from listorious.

I am sure I will have more to say on Twitter Lists as I use them more but for now I am giving them a thumbs up.

Ok we are moving forward now……

An eastbound BNSF train at Prairie du Chien, W...

This post is a bit off topic, however it is one that I wanted to write to get things started on the right foot.

The idea for this blog has been floating around for a while and even had a few test runs, but the feel just wasn’t right.  I guess maybe I should say that the look and feel both were out of sync.  I know it is the content that matters, right?  But I am sure you would agree that the look needs to fit as well.

Today it happened – the look and feel came together.  I know this should have been something that happened to start with, but I had to mix both my personality and goals of this blog as well as those of the sponsor for the blog, SourceOne Technologies.  So now the look and feel gelled together and the train is ready to leave the station and start moving forward.

The goal of this blog is to keep a pulse on the Social Networking and Social Media scene for you and provide you with the needed insights and tips to help you be successful in this area.

A personal goal I have of this blog is to also be able to share my knowledge of email and browser technology that I have acquired over the years and mix it up with what can be done with Social Media and Social Networking tools.

Needless to say I am excited about the opportunity to write for this blog and move it forward.

Ok we are now moving forward so hang on and get ready.

So you are new Twitter and just don’t understand what it is yet ?

Today I had an opportunity to work with a great new client. In talking to them, however I learned that they had not heard of Twitter yet, let alone did they understand what it is and how it can help them in their business.

This lead me to make this post today, So you are new Twitter and just don’t understand what it is yet ?

In thinking about what is the best way to explain Twitter to someone that hasn’t heard of it or used it yet I thought that sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words.  This lead me to YouTube and to some great videos that do a wonderful job explaining what Twitter is.

I hope you enjoy these and find them helpful

One thing I have found is that many people have a hard time grasping what Social Networking is and how it can drive business to you.  Here is a great video from Perry Blecher that breaks it dowan and explains the concept very clearly:
